His four-day visit of solidarity came as Papua New Guinea prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary of independence. In a powerful address to the National Parliament, the Secretary-General reflected on the enduring partnership between Papua New Guinea and the United Nations, and applauded the people of the nation for their extraordinary efforts in building unity from diversity.
