The UN Resident Coordinator Richard Howard recently visited the landslide site at Kaokolam village in Enga Province. During his visit, he met with the survivors of the tragic landslide.
The UN is working with development partners, INGOs, NGOs, and the local and provincial governments to support affected communities, many of whom must immediately move to new areas to develop a new life.
The Resident Coordinator said the UN will support to rebuild communities so that they not only recover from this unbearable loss but also build a new life where they have access to essential social services like health and education.
“The UN stands fully committed to the communities and the government to find a way forward, “said Richard Howard.
